Today Lee and I took my parents to Eureka Springs! I saw the Christ of the Ozarks for the first time. The Christ of the Ozarks is the largest statue of Christ in North America.
As you know, I’m Brazilian (on my mother’s side). I have been to Rio de Janeiro once, when I was ten years old. I remember visiting the statue of Christ the Redeemer as if it were yesterday. It was so windy, I thought I was going to blow away off the statue and down into the city! By contrast, today was much more pleasant – temperate, easy to walk around, and all-in-all a lovely visit.
We then continued down into historic downtown Eureka Springs. After lunch at Local Flavor (it was delicious, as always!), we walked and shopped. I bought several beautiful quilts from The Quilt Shop on Main Street, and am sad to hear that it will be closing in the fall. I am so excited to use these beautiful quilts in my upcoming family sessions!
